ConneX™ Portable TAPs
CC1205-P
The CC1205-P is part of the new generation of TAP products from Network Critical; it is a passive breakout TAP for 1000 multimode fiber network links, for connection to a dual-port gigabit network tool.

The CC1205-P features Network Critical’s innovative Zero-packet-loss failsafe technology which maintains full-duplex pass-through capability to protect your network link from downtime in the event of a product failure.

The CC1205-P features:
  • Breakout monitor ports, each of which carry one side of the network conversation. Breakout mode guarantees that 100% of the network traffic is presented to the network tool without delay, even at sustained line-rate operation.
  • Passive operation; in addition to the link protection failsafe the CC1205-P blocks all traffic coming back from the network tool.
  • Link Failure Propagation (LFP) allows simultaneous failover of network interfaces, useful in HA network scenarios. This is a user-configurable option.

The CC1205-P is in a portable, stand-alone form factor and is also available as a plug-in module for the CriticaConneX™ enterprise chassis (CC1205).

Supported Technologies
Passive – protects (isolates) the Live Network from receiving traffic back through the monitor ports. Allows network tools to be deployed in ‘stealth’ mode.
Fail-to-Safe – No point of failure – Input power voltage is continuously monitored; if the input voltage is outside nominal levels, then the Live Network Ports fail-closed, maintaining the network link. The proprietary fail-close circuitry is passive and requires no power.
Link Failure Propagation (LFP) – This feature monitors the link status of the Live Network Ports. In the event one of the connected network devices fails, then the TAP will immediately drop the other Live Network Port. This ensures your high availability (HA) design is not comprised.
A/B Breakout – breaks out the network traffic into two separate streams (Rx & Tx).
1000BASE-SX – supports 1000BASE-SX Multimode Fiber on Live Network Ports.
LinkLock – 100% Uptime Guaranteed – A permanent link connection between the two network devices enables Zero Packet Loss on the Live Network Ports while power is turned on or off. Packet Injection is NOT supported in this mode. This feature is not supported at 1000Base-T.
RoHS Compliant - Fully complies with EC directive 2002/95/EC.
Dual PSU - Features Dual Power Supplies for added resilience.

In BREAKOUT mode bi-directional live network traffic is broken-out onto separate monitor ports, giving a single network tool full access to the traffic. This type of deployment is recommended when 100% guaranteed traffic capture is required.
